Allegations of abuse of four toddlers have been leveled against a former teacher at the Emporia State University’s Center for Early Childhood Education by four families, according to separate petitions filed in Lyon County earlier this month.
In the lawsuit filed Aug. 17 in Lyon County District Court, the families are asking for a jury trial and damages in excess of $75,000 each on several counts ranging from assault and battery to negligent supervision by a former teacher and supervisor at the Butcher Education Center, which is affiliated with the Teachers College at Emporia State.
