2 day care employees charged in ‘hot car’ death

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Two day care workers have been charged in the death of a 3-year-old who police say tried to escape the hot van she was left in for four hours on Friday.

Louvenia Shantae Johnson, 28, and Cornel Antonio McGee, 27, each face one count of aggravated manslaughter of a child by culpable negligence for allegedly leaving Jai’nier Barnes in a van at In His Arms Christian Academy in Pensacola. They were arrested Wednesday.
