(ABC 6 News) – A Byron man is charged with malicious punishment of a child, accused of breaking a child’s wrist and leg.
27-year-old Gilbert Zziwa also faces one count of third-degree assault of a victim under 4. Both charges are felonies.
According to court documents, people at the girl’s daycare noticed bruising on her face, head, and back which Zziwa says could have come from a zipper or rolling on something at daycare.
The medical report says the child had multiple bruises on her body a split upper lip and a broken left wrist and leg which were consistent with non-accidental injuries.
