Daycare Worker Arrested For Intentionally Dropping Infant On It’s Head For “Misbehaving”

The Sun reports Bethan Pringle, 23, was arrested and charged with felony child abuse after she intentionally dropped an 11-month-old boy on his head because he misbehaved. She worked as a teacher at the Child Care Network Daycare In Sneads Ferry. After the incident, the infant was rushed to a local hospital where medical staff discovered that the day care worker harmed the boy and immediately called police.

A statement was issued by the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office describing that the infant suffered from head trauma as a result from the incident.

“The child’s injuries were from head trauma which resulted when the child was intentionally dropped by the suspect.”

Pringle was originally held on a $100,000 bond, but was released. Her employer said in a statement that she is indefinitely suspended without pay:

“The safety and well-being of this child and all of the children we serve is our top priority. Our management immediately began an internal investigation. The teacher involved in this incident has been suspended without pay pending further investigation.”
