Recognizing that her decision stems from a “difficult exercise”, Justice Serge Champoux of the Court of Québec sentenced Veronique Lalonde to two years in prison for her act committed in April 2012. The 29-year-old woman calmly took the Way of detention.
Since she is challenging her conviction for aggravated assault, she could be released pending the Court of Appeal’s decision on her case.
