Rockford man indicted on burglary, criminal damage to school

ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR) — A Rockford man is indicted by a Winnebago County grand jury on charges that he broke into and damaged a local childcare facility.

James MacTaggart, 58, is charged with burglary and criminal damage to a school.

Police say on Jan. 31, a worker was opening the Rockford KinderCare on North Mulford Road for the day and found MacTaggart inside. No one was hurt.

If convicted, he could face up to 12 years in prison.

MacTaggart is expected to be back in court on April 9.
