Black Mother Pulls Son From Preschool After Teacher Allows Him to ‘Parade Around’ In a Dress

A Kansas mother is demanding answers after her son was allegedly allowed to wear a dress while playing “dress-up” at his preschool.

Kayla Bedford, a stay-at-home mom in Wichita, withdrew her 2-year-old son Zach from the private Bethany Early Childhood Center this week after her girlfriend spotted the little boy “parading around” the classroom in a dress, according to Yahoo Lifestyle.

Bedford, 24, says after dropping her child off that morning, her girlfriend turned to look and saw Zach putting on a dress in the play area.

“She came back into the classroom and took off the dress saying, ‘We don’t do this’ in front of the teacher,” Bedford told the news site. “I am a lesbian, but I don’t push my son in any direction. Whatever he decides to do or wear in the future is his decision.”

When the mother arrived to pick up her son later that day, she said she saw her son in the classroom putting the dress on once again as his teacher stood over him. Bedford said she pulled the teacher aside and explained she doesn’t allow her son to wear girl’s clothes. Her concerns were dismissed, however.

“She just laughed and said, ‘He’s only two!’ ” Bedford recalled.

Upset, she called her father to meet her at the Christian private school.

With his cell phone camera rolling, Malcolm Bedford confronted the 2-year-old’s teacher about allowing him to put on the dress.

“My daughter called and said she had an issue with my grandson being in a dress,” he began. “We don’t do the transgender thing …”

The teacher instructs the flustered granddad to speak with the school’s director, but that only exacerbates his outrage over the situation. In the video, he’s heard condemning the teacher for encouraging the little boy to wear a dress.

“He’s two,” the teacher calmly replies.

“I don’t appreciate that,” Malcolm shoots back, explaining this is the second day the child has been allowed to wear a dress at school. “I’m not done talking to you! I’m letting you know the next time you put any kid in a dress, we’re making you go viral.”

It should be noted that Zach, according to Bedford’s girlfriend, was seen putting the dress on himself with no help from the teacher.

The teacher admonishes the grandfather for his harsh tone, and once again instructs him to talk to the school’s director.

The incident sparked a myriad of responses from social media users.

“These people should not be around kids. This ‘transgender’ madness is child abuse,” one YouTube user commented under the video.

“That based black guy is a better man than me. I’d have wanted to strangle the teacher right then and there in front of the kids,” wrote another.

Another critic opined, “This brainwashing is out of control.”

In a statement, a representative of the preschool insisted its teachers “put our children first and foremost.

“We encourage our children to play in a Christ-centered atmosphere that we hope will allow them to gain confidence and learn to interact with others in a positive way,” it continued. “Our primary responsibility is to our children and part of that is protecting their privacy, because of this we are unable to comment on specific incidents involving a child in our care.”
