A Careytown preschool teacher who pleaded guilty raping three of his students was sentenced Wednesday.  The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s office says that 32-year-old Derek Shaffer went before Common Please Judge Mark Fleegle and was given 28 1/2 years in prison.  He was also classified as a Tier III sexual offender.  On October 31st Shaffer pled guilty to 2 counts of Rape, 2 counts of Kidnapping, 3 counts of Gross Sexual Imposition and one count of Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor.  Shaffer was arrested on August 9th after Zanesville Police say a family member reported an incident to police that resulted into an investigation into Shaffer.  Shaffer had been an employee of the CareyTown Preschool for 10 years.
