A woman who ran a Grand Traverse County daycare and was convicted of child abuse is headed to prison.

A judge sentenced Melissa Ullom to three and a half to 20 years in prison.

Ullom ran the Little Squirts Daycare out of her home in Blair Township.

In 2016 police say Ullom claimed she took a baby to a neighbor’s for help, and blacked out.

The seven-month old child’s skull was fractured.

Investigators say the injury was not consistent with her story.

A jury found her guilty last month.
