Some Upstate kids got quite an exciting show this week when a lizard “got loose” during a program at an Anderson preschool. But don’t worry, it was all part of the act. (Watch the video above) An Upstate man known as the ‘Critter Keeper’ is an animal entertainer.He visits birthday parties, schools and churches and brings a blend of information, magic, and around 17 kinds of creepy-crawlies for kids to enjoy. Earlier this week, he visited a preschool in Anderson and as part of the show a brown basilisk lizard (Basiliscus vittatus) named Pedra “got loose.”The 30-second video has gone viral and put smiles on people’s faces around the country. The video is from Amanda Andrews whose son goes to the school. The Critter Keeper says he warns the kids ahead of time that Pedra is about to run away.
