VALLEY SANTA: Mother having difficult year

Two-year-old Noah and his mother Lindsey are having a difficult year.

Lindsey doesn’t have a job because she doesn’t have anyone to watch her son.

In a letter to Valley Santa, she wrote that sometimes she doesn’t have a phone. She said it’s been a bad year for vehicles as well.

“My car blew up with gas spraying everywhere so I had to junk it,” Lindsey wrote. “My brother gave us a van to help with child care and to get a job and nobody has called me back for a job.”

Lindsey said she receives food stamps and child support but that barely covers their rent.

She asked for Valley Santa’s help to provide a Christmas gift for her son. He likes Paw Patrol and toy cars, she said.

Donations are needed to ensure that Noah and children in need throughout Luzerne County have Christmas gifts.

Some who have sent donations have mailed in cards and letters with their contributions. One donor who sent a letter has gone through hardships herself but said she contributed to Valley Santa to help others.

“I remember my mother struggling to buy presents for me and my sister,” her letter read. “I’m sending this as my remembrance of her.”
