It is perhaps too shocking to even think about, but it happens: when young children at primary school are sexually abused, not by adults, or even older children, but by their peers.

Last night we revealed the increase in the number of reports of sexual abuse in schools across England and Wales and how secondary school teachers are struggling to deal with them. In the second of our two-part series, we look at what’s happening in primary schools.
